South Carolina Man Arrested for Armed Robbery Using Toy Gun

David Dalesandro, a 25-year-old from South Carolina, was taken into custody and charged with armed robbery after he allegedly held up a convenience store using a Nintendo “Duck Hunt” game pistol, the York County Sheriff’s Office said. The incident occurred at around 5:45 pm on Tuesday when Dalesandro barged into a Kwik Stop store in Sharon and flashed the toy gun at the cashier while demanding money. He was dressed in a wig, mask, and hoodie and had spray-painted the video game pistol all black to make it look more realistic when he lifted his shirt to reveal the fake gun jutting out of the waistband of his pants.

The store clerk removed about $300 from the register and handed it to Dalesandro, who fled the scene. However, he was soon found in the parking lot of a nearby Dollar General store by the deputies, who arrested him on the spot. They found the game gun in his pants.

Dalesandro was booked into the York County Detention Center on charges of armed robbery with a deadly weapon, wearing a mask, and petty larceny of less than $2,000.
